Innovations

Paving the way for a healthier tomorrow—
one seed at a time.

We’ve always believed in the synergy that exists between the earth’s best ingredients and scientific ingenuity. Over the years, we’ve developed a number of proprietary technologies and patented products that are as much a result of human wonder as they are of nature. Scroll down to peek behind the scenes of the Lycored research and development process.

01

Delivery Systems Technology

Microencapsulation

Part 1

The quality of the ingredient matters little if it is compromised during the production process. Our microencapsulation technology and diverse delivery systems ensure bioavailability.

Protection comes standard.

Part 2

Our particular methodology protects nutrients from oxidation, heat, and cross-interactions with other ingredients. This technique also protects against overages (so label claims are accurate), masks unwanted tastes and odors, reduces hygroscopicity, and increases stability and ultimately the shelf life of a product.

It’s good to go slow.

Part 3

From tablets to powders, our microencapsulated products are available in a number of delivery systems, all of which promote the slow, measured release of ingredients into the body. This time-conscious approach helps the body absorb nutrients and make the most of their health-boosting properties.

Lyc-O-Mato® & The Single Solvent Extraction Process

Single Solvent Extraction

Part 1

Removing the precious nutrients from a tomato is no small feat; it requires time, precision, and, for us, the development of a new extraction technique for Lyc-O-Mato.

Lycored Tomat-O-Facts

Part 2

Our tomato pulp is guaranteed to have less than 3ppm pesticide content.

Our production process is designed to ward off oxidation and decomposition so that the balance and integrity of nutrients is maintained.

We use ethyl acetate, the safest extraction fluid, when withdrawing the oleoresin from the pulp.

The particle size of lycopene within the Lyc-O-Mato complex is controlled to below 3 microns for maximum bioavailability.

The mix matters.

Part 3

Lycopene isn’t the only nutrient found within tomato oleoresin—beta-carotene, phytoene, phytofluene, tocopherols, and phytosterols are all present as well. This mix of phytonutrients is often compromised during the production process if not eradicated altogether in favor of preserving only the lycopene and nothing else.

Our technology allows us to maintain this delicate balance and to control the ratios between nutrients. The first fruit of our labor was Lyc-O-Mato, a blend of carotenoids and sterols that mirrored what could be found in nature but newly packaged in such a way as to be readily used by all parts of the body.

Carotenoids & Lycored Nutrient Complex™

Carotenoids 2.0

Part 1

Since day one, we’ve believed that carotenoids are stronger when combined. That hypothesis proved true—we witnessed it firsthand during the development of Lyc-O-Mato. But then we began to wonder: What would happen if you combined different ratios of carotenoids with completely different nutrients from completely different sources?

Rethinking nutrition.

Part 2

At the same time, our team began to look at common health concerns people encountered in life, particularly as they approached middle age. Their desires were simple enough—stronger, more resilient skin, better cardiovascular function, etc. We began combining ingredients tailored to these concerns, increasing and decreasing the levels of nutrients to effectively address the need at hand.

A few stars are born.

Part 3

After countless tests, studies, and clinical trials, we found the highly targeted combinations we were hunting for. We named our new family Lycored Nutrient Complex, a nod to each blend’s carotenoid foundation and the incredible mix of vital, natural ingredients within each one.
