Earth Day holds a special place in our hearts, so this year we went all out to celebrate. We partnered with the Montclair, NJ police department to raise awareness about autism while helping local families experience nature with our Trailer Park. The living installation helps kids build a personal connection to the planet and inspires a lasting appreciation for nature. It’s also an example of how a garden can flourish anywhere—even in environments that appear to be a bit unusual.
There were plenty of other activities set up, like our coloring book station, sticker and tattoo table, and a potting station where kids planted their very own rosemary seeds to take home. In order to raise awareness about autism, guests wrote their names on puzzle pieces and hung them inside the Trailer Park. Proceeds from the puzzle pieces went to Spectrum 360 and Autism Speaks, and we were honored to match all donations. We think it was a memorable Earth Day, and we were happy to both inspire and give back to our fellow citizens of the planet.
