Methionine is an essential amino acid. It is rich in sulfur and is a must for healthy joint function. It also has the ability to combine with other chemicals in the body to remove toxins and convert them into SAMe (S-Adenosyl Methionine), a chemical used to treat depression and reduce osteoarthritic pain. Some studies even suggest that methionine may reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer.
