This partnership is responsible for our holistic production methodology, our unique answer to vertical integration, as well as our biomass processing technology which is a perfect expression of how we harness the power of phytonutrients on a daily basis. By owning each step in our lycopene and beta-carotene production processes, we’re able to account for every detail and guarantee the utmost safety, sustainability, and efficacy.

The journey begins at one of our farms or facilities that dot the globe. From there, we artfully extract the oleoresin and maintain its natural structure. We then use one of our unique microencapsulation techniques to protect, stabilize, and improve the bioavailability of the nutrient or nutrients.

However, our dedication to traceability doesn’t begin and end with us. Through our partnership with Algatechnologies Ltd. we’re able to offer natural algae-derived astaxanthin that meets our very high standards.

Microencapsulation

The little things always matter.

Our unique microencapsulation techniques, including our alginate, starch, and gelatin beadlets, were primarily developed to protect nature’s actives. When possible, each method also enhances the bioavailability and stability of these precious ingredients while minimizing cross-interaction and protecting against oxidation.

Alginate Beadlets (VBAF)

In this proprietary technology, active ingredients are encased by ionic complexes in algae. The resulting beadlets are allergen-free, vegan, and stable for 33% longer. (Our lutein complex utilizes this technique.)

Starch Beadlets

Here, we encapsulate our active ingredients in starch. This type of beadlet is water dispersible and suitable for use in both food and supplements.

Gelatin Beadlets

This method allows us to encapsulate the desired nutrients in gelatin. Our beadlets protect against oxidation and increase the stability of the nutrients housed inside.

Emulsion

It’s the whole package.

Just like humans, tomatoes are mostly water. The nutrient-rich oleoresin we extract accounts for just 5% of its composition. While the delicate phytonutrient and water exist in harmony, they are completely separate from each other. Our emulsion process mixes them together, reintroducing the tomato components once more, so that we end up with a more efficacious carotenoid.
