Proper nutrition is imperative for kids to grow up healthy and strong. As part of our Good In Bloom program, Dr. Tal Offer, Lycored Carotenoids Category Manager, visited a local school in Israel to help the students discover how to eat healthy. Dr. Offer introduced the USDA MyPlate concept, which outlines the recommended portions of protein, grains, fruits, and vegetables that should make up a dinner plate. She talked about the importance of eating lots of different colors of fruits and veggies, and the children drew and colored in a picture of what they’d put on their own plate. The kids also got moving with a fun game of food group-inspired musical chairs. Finally, the children created a food selecting origami “fortune teller” to remind them of all they learned and help them plan their future dinners.
